Other Registration Information
Registration Office Hours
The registration office is located at the West County Computer Center,
1715 Deer Tracks Trail, Suite 240, St. Louis, MO 63131.
The registration office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
Payment of Fees
The registration fee for each course is shown below the course description.
Checks should be made payable to the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
MasterCard, VISA, and Discover are also accepted. Please note that
payment of fees is due in full prior to the start of your class.
You are not officially registered until your payment has been received.
Course fees include all course materials. No additional purchases
are required.
Invoicing
In order to be invoiced, you must fill out the registration form and
attach authorization and billing information, including the name and
signature of the person responsible for payment. Please note the
cancellation and refund policies. Non-payment or failure to abide
by payment policies will result in loss of invoicing rights.
Confirmation
Upon receipt of your registration, you will receive a confirmation notice
and a map by return mail. Please register early to ensure timely receipt
of this information. Registrations that include all information are
normally processed the same day they are received, and confirmations
are mailed out the following day. You should receive your confirmation
within a week of registering for the class.
Parking
Course fees include all parking charges for microcomputer courses.
For classes on the UM-St. Louis campus (121 Penney), you will receive
a parking permit by return mail. No permit is required for parking at
the West County Computer Center.
Alumni Association Member Discount
Become a member of the University of Missouri-St. Louis Alumni Association
and receive a 10% discount on Microcomputer Program classes. Call
(314) 516-5833 for more information.
The Facilities
At the West County Computer Center, complimentary coffee and tea is
available. In addition, refreshments may be purchased from
vending machines (both locations) and a cafeteria (UM-St. Louis
campus lab). You will be given an hour for lunch. At both
locations, restaurants are located nearby (within a 5-minute
drive). The UM-St. Louis campus cafeteria is normally open
when the undergraduate classes are in session.
No child-care facilities are available at either location.
Children who are not registered for a class cannot accompany students
to classes or be left unattended at the facilities during classes.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
are issued for the completion of all courses except for Kids 'n' Computer
Classes. The Chancellor's Certificate is awarded for successful completion
of 96 hours.
Income Tax Deduction
The cost of continuing education is deductible for federal income
tax purposes under certain circumstances. Check with the IRS or
your tax advisor for specific information.
Bringing Your Own Thumb Drive
In many classes, we provide floppy disks for students to save files.
Since all the files from the class may not fit on a floppy or you may not
have access to a floppy drive at your home or office, you may bring your
own USB flash or thumb drive to the class in order to save your work. Thumb
drives can be used in most of our classes.
Accessibility for Disabled Persons
The University of Missouri complies with the Americans with
Disabilities Act of 1992. Persons requiring auxiliary aids should
contact the Coordinator of Special Student Programs,
(314) 516-5228, at least two weeks prior to the
first class session for assessment and assistance.
Class Cancellation, Withdrawal, and Refunds
The University reserves the right to cancel any program. In the event of
cancellation, you will be notified immediately, and course fees will be
refunded or applied to a future program at your request.
Transfers, Withdrawal, Refunds
If you must cancel a registration for a class, call
(314) 984-9000 by 9:00 a.m. two weekdays prior to day
classes and by 5:00 p.m. two weekdays prior to evening classes to
guarantee a refund. Your Social Security number is required to process
a refund. Refunds will not be given without two days prior notice.
To transfer from one section of a class to another, you must
also call (314) 984-9000 by 9:00 a.m. two weekdays
prior to day classes and by 5:00 p.m. two weekdays prior to evening
classes. There is a limit of one transfer per class.
Substitutions are also allowed prior to the beginning of the course.
If you are unable to attend but would like another employee from your
company to attend in your place, contact the Registration office with
the necessary information to make the change.
Check-In
Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early at your first class session to
check in and receive your course materials. For classes on the
UM-St. Louis campus, go to 121 Penney. For classes at the West County
Computer Center, go to Suite 100. Day class check-in begins at
7:45 am. Evening class check-in begins at 5:30 pm.
