(Prerequisite: Intermediate SQL Server System Administration or equivalent experience.) Explore advanced techniques using SQL Server to store and retrieve data from other SQL Server, Microsoft Access, and Oracle databases. Probe deeper into the administration of SQL Server with a discussion of the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator and distributed transactions. Investigate various methods of storing and retrieving data from multiple locations, including Linked Servers, Remote Servers, Data Replication, and Log Shipping. Learn how to configure snapshot, transactional, and merge replication and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
