(Prerequisite: Introduction to Flash or equivalent experience.) This course continues the Introduction to Flash course, covering more complex animation options. Create frame-by-frame animations and then refine and edit the animation sequences. Learn to create, duplicate, and change the order of multiple scenes. Other topics include importing and editing bitmap graphics; using the guides, grid, and rulers for more precision; onion-skinning; and importing, editing, and compressing sounds. Advanced Applications of Flash
(Prerequisite: Intermediate Applications of Flash or equivalent experience.) Discover the expert techniques that will help you refine your Flash animations and enhance your Web pages. Learn to create continuous scrolling graphics using groups and add special effects, such as blur to focus, laser and fading light, flares, and masking. Create the effect of film grain, including the scratches. Learn how you can sync an animation to a sound track. You'll also practice making cartoons from video by using the animation technique of rotoscoping. Learn how to create special art effects, such as chrome and interlocking shapes. Discover the techniques to control shape tweening and morphing, as well as to create convincing motion blur effects. Other special topics include creating water ripple and flame effects, making a magnifying glass, creating a text scroll bar, and adding sparkles and kaleidoscopes to your movies. Use ActionScript to label frames, then use the GoTo statement to switch sequences. Create dynamic text boxes and password-protected and printable areas on your Web pages. Topics include planning and managing the use of symbols, layers, and scenes and inserting an input text box. Learn to create and synchronize multiple movie clips and use the load movie clip command.
